Sarah’s Dumps Dinner with Sarah & Nate Williams-Scalise

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 2024

Hosts: Adrienne Troy Frazier & Herb Frazier

Chef: Awo Amenumey

Tamadas: Nilsy Rapalo

Everyone was a chef at this dinner!

A first for Transformation Table Lowcountry, this dinner included a participatory cooking component that took our dinner to another level. Combining her story of adoption and the experience of mandu, or Korean dumplings, Sarah Williams-Scalise taught our guests how to prepare this Korean staple.

Aprons on, scoops of filling and little bowls of water at the ready, Sarah showed Adrienne, Herb, Nilsy, Ronnie, Blake, Elise, Ariane, Lawrence and Jessica how to place the filling in the middle of the wrap, how to fold, pinch and secure the dumplings. It challenged the Table to learn together as a team and then share what they created. Way cool! Of course, conversations still ruled, with guests connecting over shared professions, birthing experiences, Columbus Ohio and many, many personal stories. This group went deep. We were there for it.
