Eat Dirt! Dinner with chef Reggie Miller

Saturday, July 13, 2024

Host: Cookie Washington

Tamada: Tonisia Brown-Cotton

Tamada in training: Liz Blume

This dinner was a special one. Well, they’re all special, just in different ways.

Featuring the youngest chef we’ve ever had cook for us, 22-year-old chef Reggie Miller blew the table away with his inventive cuisine.  Passionate about nutrition and sourcing fresh high-quality ingredients, chef Reggie uses local farmers, fishmongers, and meat purveyors to ensure the best outcomes for people and the planet. He’s going places. Just as talented and impressive was his partner for the evening, 18-year-old chef Gabriel “Gabby” Smith. If these two are representative of future chefs of the world, we’re good.

The most successful part of this dinner was that everyone was able to connect with each person at the table. Each guest doesn’t just feel like they can relate or connect with just one person, but everyone finds a connection - whether it’s a similar food they like/don’t like, their careers have crossed paths in some capacity, and they know mutual acquaintances, or the guest learns something new about themselves just hearing other’s stories.

This is the beauty of Transformation Table.

We were honored to have the CEO of our fiscal sponsor organization, United Charitable. Julia Healey joined us at the Table, and we are thrilled she enjoyed the evening.
